Work has been hectic as usual, the result of our recent acquisition. So, in leiu of content, try some links.

Congratulations to Mary Robinette Kowal on the sale of her first novel. It was especially sweet as it sold on her birthday.

This is why I think Battlestar Galactica fracking needs to get a Hugo: Richard Hatch passionately defends his character's actions. If you haven't seen last week's episode, the discussion is a major spoiler, but if you did see the show, stop on by.

Such a look I got.

Still - my experience with that kind of thing is that democracy and ships don't go together. If you're aboard a ship, you're cargo: pipe down and do what the guys with the funny white hats tell you to do.

Yes, trying to run a democracy on a ship is tough. Part of the problem is their entire system of government needs to be revamped to accomidate the new situation. For sentimental reasons, the survivors didn't.
