Duckon Programming

Sorry I didn't post yesterday - reality interrupted in the form of a series of minor problems.

I mentioned I'm on programming at Duckon this weekend. Here's all I know about what I'm doing. Don't ask about times, because I have no idea. ETA times - Thanks Jackie Powers!

Publishing Comparisons: When jumping into the world of publishing, the new writers are faced with choices in how to best present their work. Now the big publishing houses are facing strong competition in the smaller publishing houses as well as e-publishing and self publishing venues. This panel will address what authors can expect to encounter in the various venues. Attending will be someone from a small press, the lit GOH, the Science GOH, a medical writer, a short story writer, and another science writer. (Plus me, the self-published.) Saturday 8 PM

World Building: Governments panel is a straight forward discussion on how to create fictional governments. Sunday 1 PM

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] jeff_duntemann suggested that I do some "writing process" posts. I'm working on the first one, world-building.

Good News

My cousin Bill Burke and his wife Krista had their first baby this weekend. The little tyke, Molly Zelda Burke, was rather early at 31 weeks, but is apparently in good health overall. My cousin, being the thoroughly modern type (and with relatives in multiple states) is blogging about it here.
