A Wet Time In The Old Town Last Night
The same system that dumped eight inches of rain on Milwaukee Thursday slipped on south last night and dumped on us. Fortunately we didn't get any significant wind, just a metric shitload of rain. If your wondering what a "metric shitload" is, Villa Park, my suburb, got 7.26 inches, all between 10 PM and 9 AM. That's what we usually get in two months.
At my house, no damage to report, except that Comcast cable and Internet is out. Due to a minor snafu at work (more communication failure then real problem, fortunately) I had to run to a branch, so I got the scenic tour of flooded viaducts and streets. After my tour, I decided to go into the office and pull some stuff from the Internet that I would need later.
Since this is the second time Comcast took a weather-related dump, while AT & T's product worked as advertised, I think I'll skip Comcast's "triple play" (phone, TV and Internet).
