Hugos, Nominations for

I've decided on my nominations for the 2015 Hugos. I admit to doing a bit of tactical voting. Basically, it takes about 100 votes to get on the novel short-list, so any self-pub or small-press book doesn't have a shot, and is not getting a nomination from me. I'm also steering away from books that are later books in a series. Also, if the category isn't listed here, I'm not voting it. Herewith, my vote:

Novels

Hurricane Fever - Tobias Buckell
Defenders - Will McIntosh
The Burning Dark - Adam Christopher
A Darkling Sea - James Cambias
Trial By Fire - Charles E. Gannon (the only series, but it's only book #2)

Novelettes

“Reborn” — Tor.com, January 29, 2014 Ken Lui
The Colonel” by Peter Watts Tor.com

Short Stories

The Days of the War, as Red as Blood, as Dark as Bile by Aliette de Bodard - SUBTERRANEAN PRESS MAGAZINE: SPRING 2014
Hunting Monsters by S.L. Huang - 10/7/2014 Booksmugglers
Tongtong’s Summer”, by Xia Jia - Clarksworld Dec 2014
Codename: Delphi - Linda Nagata, Lightspeed April 2014
The Devil in the Details - DEBRA DOYLE and JAMES D. MACDONALD Tor.com Jul 2014

Dramatic Long Form

Interstellar
Edge of Tomorrow
Guardians of Galaxy

(Not voting Hunger Games because I expect it will be there and not voting "Space Station 76" because it is SF only by courtesy.)
