Citizens Bank&Trust Company of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, was closed today by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation — Division of Banking, which appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver. To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with Republic Bank of Chicago, Oak Brook, Illinois, to assume all of the deposits of Citizens Bank&Trust Company of Chicago.

Now you know what my "minor crisis at work" was. Yes, I'm still in Las Vegas - I fly out tomorrow.

Laptops and cell phones are wonderful things.

ETA I work at Republic Bank of Chicago - the acquiring institution. This is good news for me - more work and job security.

In the comments section to this post (http://www.boingboing.net/2010/04/23/chris-wares-rejected.html) about a rejected Fortune cover (hilarious!), someone mentioned about Illinois banks being closed and I thought of you, but I didn't quite think you'd be directly affected though.
