Parasite and the Hugos
I purchased and read Mira Grant AKA Seanan McGuire's novel Parasite over the weekend. It's an entertaining tale, but I grow weary of McGuire's fixation on zombies. These zombies are different then the typical zombie, and that's neat, but still, they be zombies.
I'm also not terribly impressed with her big "surprises." The first surprise, which she closes the book with, I saw coming about a third of the way in, and the second surprise, which has not yet been sprung, is being telegraphed loudly enough to be heard in orbit.
In short, good book, but no higher than third on my ballot. I'm waiting on my Hugo packet for Correia's offering, and Wheel of Time AKA Wall of Text will probably go unread by me.
