The tomato plants in my front yard are starting to produce edible fruit. Right now, I'm in Stage 1 of tomato-ness. The stages are:
Stage 1 - Check plants often, eager to pick a tomato. Tend to pick tomato when there's still a little green on the edges, because they're so good.
Stage 2 - Check plants when I check my mail. Note that there's half-a-dozen red ones on vine, rack brain as to who I can give them to, since I can't possibly eat them all.
Stage 3 - Check plants daily. Wonder where tomatoes went, wait eagerly for last few stragglers to get red enough to eat.
