Syria and Upcoming Radio Silence

I am taking a vacation day tomorrow, Monday is Labor Day and I am taking Tuesday off as well. None of my plans for those days are heavy with time spent at a keyboard, so expect light and variable posting.
Syria
I remain underwhelmed by the arguments in favor of bombing / making war on Syria. Yeah, a red line was crossed, but perhaps we shouldn't have drawn the line in the first place. Unlike Charles Stross, I don't think attacking Syria is criminal, but I do think it's, if not stupid, very much not a good idea. I'm also reminded that some time ago I wrote an article about the ineffectiveness of strategic bombing. I don't see why bombing Syria would be any different.
The bottom line in Syria remains the same - until and unless Assad sees a way out that doesn't involve him and his hanging from light poles, he'll keep on fighting and using whatever is at hand to win.
