Some random thoughts:
1) The Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman tried his hand at writing science fiction in 1996. He wrote a column pretending to analyze the 21st century from the perspective of 2096. It's a quick and fascinating read. Basically, Krugman's take is that many white-collar occupations will decline, replaced by computers, leaving only blue-collar positions that can't be outsourced. It's a bit tongue-in-cheek, in that Krugman pretends his day job in 2096 is working at a veterinary clinic, but very interesting.
2) In the wake of the S/V Quest massacre, the US Navy captures pirates without firing a shot. Here, on a much larger ship, the crew was able to lock themselves into a safe area, allowing time for the boarding party to operate.
3) My article on the scam "End of America 2011" has drawn quite a bit of spam and anonymous vitriol. I deleted two comments to the effect of "Democrat parasites DIE" already. You might be a troll if you run Google searches and jump into comment threads with great hostility.
