Pantsing, Take 2

So I wrote yesterday that I can't pants (write without outline) a mystery novel. I posted that statement on Facebook, and several people provided counterexamples. One, a writer, offered himself, and two others offered other writers, including Agatha Christie.

Please let me revise and extend my remarks. I, at this stage in my writing career, can't pants a mystery novel. After I've cranked out a couple, maybe I will gain that skill.
