Bumper Cars
May. 3rd, 2006 08:59 pmSo I’m sitting at a restaurant near my house and I see a fire truck (specifically Lombard’s Rescue Unit) roll down the street to my house with its sirens on. “Wonder what that’s about?” I think.
After dinner, I start driving down the street, and see a cop car parked in the middle of the road, red and blue lights rolling. “Road-block?” I wonder. When I get even with the cop car, I see the problem. There’s a green pickup truck sitting on the grass on the grass. The truck’s front is badly mangled, and as I roll by, and ambulance, sirens and lights, rolls out of the lot.
So I put the car out in front of my house (roofers coming in the morning) and walk back to the park. The first lady I see didn’t know what happens, and the second guy has poor English, although better then my Spanish. At any rate, somehow the guy is in the park’s parking lot, and looses control, crosses the entire lot, and runs over something on the other side. I don’t know if the ambulance was for the driver or somebody in the park.
Who says Villa Park is boring?
