Julie Czerneda
Jul. 27th, 2006 04:32 pmI met the science fiction author Julie Czerneda at DucKon, a local science fiction convention.
She was guest of honor, and did a very nice and helpful writer's workshop. She's also a morning person, which is very atypical in the SF world. I'm not a *true* morning person, but usually get up around 8 or so. At any rate, Julie made the offer to all interested folks that she would be available for breakfast.
So, Saturday morning rolled around, and I ended up getting some quality time with the GoH. We discussed a plot problem in another novel I was working on (not The Mars Run) and she had some helpful suggestions. We traded a few emails after the con as well.
I decided to write her an email announcing my book, and she graciously invited me to drop by her newsgroup.
Overall, a very nice lady, and a good writer!
