Reviewing a Classic - Take 2
Oct. 23rd, 2006 10:34 amAs I mentioned yesterday, I just re-read a brand new hardcover of Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles." What I didn't mention was that my edition had a story I didn't remember about two mail-order brides moving to Mars, and didn't have a story about all the Blacks in a (Jim-Crow-era) south moving to Mars.
I thought that, well, maybe that story wasn't in Chronicles, and so I posted a query in Speculations asking about it. Jim Van Pelt replied that the story name was "Way Up in the Middle of the Air" and had been in Chronicles. So, I did a little more research, and Wikipedia tells me that "curiously, a recent hardcover edition" (mine) did the swap.
Mystery solved - and another mystery opened.
