Long time no blog
Dec. 10th, 2006 11:54 amSorry about that. There have been a string of minor problems at work, and I'm trying to get ready for the holidays, so I just haven't found the time to update. That and I don't like the "went to the store, came back and did laundry" type posts anyway. So, now that I do have some actual "content" to post, and time to do it, let's get right in.
First, I'd like to point out that Geoffrey Chaucer Hath a Blog (hat tip Teresa and Patrick Nielson Haydens). Goeffrey, as one would expect, posts in Middle English - a typical line is "As messire John of Gaunt loueth women, so ich loue bokes" (As Mr. John of Gaunt loves women, so I love books). Despite (or maybe because of this) the blog is hilarious. Go to the link and scroll down to his "Battlestar Ecclesiastica" entry.
At work, we're doing a Christmas tree gift program. Various needy people have put their name on a paper ornament on the tree in the main lobby. Individuals can then take the ornament and buy a gift. I picked up one sixth-grader who likes to read. So, one of the books I bought her was Jim C. Hines' latest, Goblin Quest

Lastly, I decided to add to my reviewing duties. As mentioned previously, I do book reviews for TCM Reviews. Well, I've thrown my hat into the ring for Pod People, which is strictly for self-published types. We shall see how this goes.
