Well, I am the proud owner of a 2007 Saturn Vue "Green Line" hybrid SUV. I bought it from the nice folks at Saturn of Elmhurst. Not only is the car environmentally green, it's the color green. In fact, it's the same color as this guy.
I was torn between getting the Vue or the Aura. Since the Aura is a car, if I'd gone that route I would have kept my Jimmy. I was concerned that the mild hybrid Vue would be jerky in traffic. It's not, although you do notice when, at a light, the engine stops and you can hear the other cars running. Part of the mild hybrid is that the engine doesn't shut off until it's up to temperature, so there's less of a start-lag. Also, the electric motor assists in acceleration, so the car is actually a second quicker off the gate then it's all-gas counterpart, or for that matter Ford's competition.
Buying a Saturn was quick and painless, and I managed to get the zero-percent financing. If you're interested act now, because the deal is over Tuesday. (It's part of GM's new plan to only do spot promos, not the long-term rebates.) The only "typical car sales BS" part was the attempt to sell me an extended warranty. Since all GM vehicles now have a 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, I skipped. All in all, a day well spent.
Now I need to figure out how all the new gizmos on my car work, and get my radio presets done!
