Happy Friday the 13th
Apr. 13th, 2007 08:32 amIt's been a busy week, with two wine-and-cheese business after-hours events in a row, capped off with a 7 AM meeting at work. So, in lieu of original content, here's some recycled stuff.
First, let's talk about critical thinking. Bill Whittle runs a website called "Eject Eject Eject" (slogan: "Out of Airspeed, Out of Altitude, Out of Ideas"). Bill is a hard-core conservative, and more of an essayist then a blogger, with long but infrequent posts. I don't agree with everything he writes or espouses, but his latest post is about critical thinking, something that's in short supply of late. The post is long but well worth reading.
Also worth looking at is my review of the book Three Cups of Tea. The book is the story of the Central Asia Institute, an American charity that is building secular schools in Taliban country of Pakistan and Afghanistan. I liked the book, and I strongly support the charity. We need more charities like it.
