Monday Thoughts
Aug. 6th, 2007 12:11 pmI decided to stay in last night, and watched The Good Shepherd on pay-per-view. I was unimpressed. The movie, about the early years of the CIA, was slow, and full of cliched characters. Not only that, but, at least on pay-per-view, it was hard to hear and understand what everybody was saying. Yes, I got it that they're spies and secret and shit, but STOP MUMBLING! So, The Good Shepherd was a waste of $3.99, but at least I didn't pay full freight in a theater.
It's very fashionable to bash McDonald's for America's obesity problem. This is a bad rap. McDonald's has had several salads (quite good) on the menu, and recently added a trio of chicken sandwiches, all available grilled. That's what I've been having for lunch to preclude additional gallbladder attacks. Whether these healthy choices would be on the menu if people didn't squawk about it I don't know. At any rate, one can in fact eat a reasonably healthy meal at McDonald's. So, if you're fat, don't blame McDonald's - look in the mirror!
I'll edit this when I get my time for surgery tomorrow. ETA: I'm scheduled for 7:30 AM tomorrow, which means I need to be there at 6:30. I should be home by 11:00 AM or so.
