Thursday Thoughts
Oct. 18th, 2007 01:31 pmI was away from my computer yesterday, attending a golf outing. The weather was nice, I played my usual mediocre game, but I had fun. It's been said of golf* that "a bad day at the golf course is better then a good day at work."
I was having a discussion over on Scalzi's blog and as a result stumbled across the blog of
belyal. He discovered this sad and perverse story of the Internet age.
The original story is six screens long and well-written, but in summary some sad-sack looser, definitely old enough (50-ish) to know better, invented a whole alter-ego solely to get some sympathy. She played this game with one person for over 2 years! It's the latest example of truth being stranger then fiction.
Well, the bad side of taking a day off mid-week to play golf is catching up at work, so I shall leave you while I do just that.
* something similar is said of sex.
