Hurry up and wait has been the story of my life the past few days. My Rotary Club's annual charity auction is Friday, so Monday and Tuesday have been "hurry up" days - get the final list of items, people and other logistics. Now, I'm in "wait" mode - decoration Thursday night and setup Friday, but today, nothing.
In other news, my writing group is getting to be more of a real group.Colleen Kole Colleen Kobe (I'm probably mis-spelling that - maybe Jackie Powers will help) joined us for a meeting. It was an interesting time, with some useful comments on my short story and a lengthy brainstorming session on an erotic paranormal novella of Jackie's. She needed to come up with a culture for some succubi and incubi. Interesting conversation. Jackie also gave me a manuscript version of her novel, an erotica piece set in Victorian England. Let's just say that her protagonist is, well, unconventional.
Also interesting was an incident at our meeting place. We meet in the coffee area at a Borders bookstore in Naperville. Some lady (30-ish) showed up and proceeded to shout questions (repeatedly) from her table to the barista. Rather obnoxious. Granted, it's not a library, but neither is it the Y'all Come Down Inn & Barn.
I've got a humorous little ditty on tap for tomorrow, but I probably won't have anything to post on Friday.
