Thoughts on Writing and Publishing
Jul. 16th, 2008 09:56 amI had a meeting of my writer's group last night. Jackie Powers is going to take her (complete) Victorian erotica novel and tack on 2 or 3 additional books. The meta-plot for that will be a mystery, so we spent an enjoyable hour putting that together. Then she read a new chapter of Space Rescue and had her usual helpful thoughts. All in all, a productive meeting.
In other news, I've been aware of Francis Hamit, chief cook and bottle-washer at Brass Cannon Books. (He comments at Jerry Pournelle's site). Hamit's a published author who decided to self-publish a novel, The Shenandoah Spy, a historical novel about a real woman, Belle Boyd, who was a Confederate spy. I've decided to order a copy and see if it's any good. (Like I don't have enough on my "to-be-read" pile!)
