Merry Christmas! And Random Observations
Dec. 24th, 2008 01:45 pmI wish you all a Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) and I hope that you and yours are warm and safe.
Random Observations:
- Here in Central Illinois, we've gotten sleet, freezing rain and then just plain-ole-rain, which has turned formerly snow-packed sidewalks and side streets to highly polished surfaces of ice. Fortunately, the main roads are fine.
- You might be in a small town if you can buy the bar a round and get change back from a $10 bill. Granted, it was a small mid-day crowd at the American Legion, but still.
- Something my dad just got emailed to him, allegedly a quote from Harry Truman. "My choices in life were to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. In truth, there's not much difference between the two."
