Free Medical Stuff
Jan. 26th, 2009 12:54 pmA group of Chicago-area Rotary clubs have become affiliated with a program ran by the Sisters of Mercy. This program collects used but serviceable medical equipment (everything from beds to EKG machines) and provides them free to needy clinics and hospitals. Now, this is not a "dump of junk" - the sisters clean up the stuff, make sure it works and has all pieces and parts, and puts an inventory on a web page. Thus, it the charitable clinic needs a left-handed umptefroot, it can see if one is available and put dibs on it.
Where the Rotary clubs come in is that we'll pay for shipping to get the stuff to the clinic. So what I need is a clinic, preferably in the US, that needs stuff. If you know of a specific clinic or hospital, please email me with their contact information. Rotary is non-religious and nonpartisan, but we'll work with any religious or non-profit organization.
My email is cgerrib (at) comcast (dot) net. You can also leave the information in a reply to this post, and if you don't want your name associated with the suggestion, just post anonymously.
Thanks in advance for your help.
