Back to Reality
Oct. 19th, 2009 09:38 amMy golf outing yesterday was a lot of fun. We couldn't have asked for better weather - cool but not cold, clear skies and no wind to speak of. The course - Old Oak Country Club - is an old, heavily-wooded course, and the trees were all turning colors. We had a dinner and open bar after the event, and the food was plentiful and tasty. All in all, a very enjoyable day.
The fundraiser was the first and hopefully annual event held by the Rotary Club of Chicagoland Lithuanians, and the proceeds are going to buy insulin pumps for Lithuanian children. It appears that they made their target money.
That's especially good since the outing was held in memory of Lou Volodka. Lou's motto - "Lu Can Do."
