Friday Thoughts
Feb. 26th, 2010 09:17 amFirst, a reminder - my alumni association is selling raffle tickets at our site. $20 gives you three chances to win up to $1,000. You can buy online if desired.
Second, my parents are in town for a couple of days to attend the Chicago Golf Show. Since my house is still a construction zone, they are staying at a hotel. Actually, it's the hotel my dad stayed at all the time when he was doing business up here, so they are quite comfortable. At any rate, I met them last night for dinner. We were planning to go to a local steakhouse, also a favorite of dad's traveling days.
The place was closed. Shuttered, out of business, take the sign down closed. Fortunately, there are several other places nearby, including the Kerry Piper, where we ended up for dinner.
Lastly, I spoke to my contractor this morning - he thinks he's got the countertop fixed! I truly hope he's right.
