Last Sunday, I cooked a pizza for dinner, intending to have the leftovers on Wednesday and Thursday. Then I was unexpectedly invited out for drinks and munchies with co-workers on Wednesday and had out-of-town guests for Thursday. Adding my pre-scheduled weekend plans, today dawned with a surplus of pizza in my refrigerator. A surplus which I just reduced at lunch.

Now, on to link salad:

A) From [livejournal.com profile] jeff_duntemann, overhearing half a conversation is more distracting than a full conversation. Once you say that, it sounds obvious, but the folks at the link proved it.

B) The SF writer John Scalzi has (always-entertaining) thoughts on Tax frenzies and how to hose them down. It's his answer to the question "Why is it that the people freaking out the most about taxes on the rich are the ones who don’t seem to know how the tax code works?"

C) Related to point B above, via [livejournal.com profile] daveon, I find this entrepreneur who says personal income tax rates won't affect his investment decisions. He also says this: When [income] inequality gets too far out of balance, as it did over the course of the last decade, the wealthy end up saving too much while members of the middle class can't afford to spend much unless they borrow excessively. Eventually, the economy stalls for lack of demand, and we see the kind of deflationary spiral we find ourselves in now.

D) For my readers who are curious as to why I read Rand Simberg, it's for articles like this discussing ongoing innovations in space technology.
