Random thought: The author and blogger Tobias Buckell has turned comments off on his blog. He found managing comments to be a pain in the ass, and sometimes didn't post on certain topics because of the comments he'd get. In his case, turning comments off has proven to be a good thing - he's posting a lot more stuff.

1) From Jim Wright - Rush Limbaugh is a big fat socialist, or, remember the true story of Thanksgiving. Well worth a read, and a useful history lesson.
2) I think I got this from
jaylake, but it's been going around. I give you the Top Ten Daily Consequences of Having Evolved. Of interest to me, hiccups come to us from our several hundred million year old amphibian ancestors.
3) According to NASA, Rhea, one of Saturn's moons, has a (too thin to breathe) oxygen atmosphere. I suppose the same processes at work on Rhea could make a breathable atmosphere on a larger moon.
