iPads Will Take Over The World
Apr. 15th, 2011 02:12 pmSo, I was on my annual business trip to Milwaukee earlier this week. While there, I was using my iPhone to check work email. Well, I got several pieces of email that for one reason or another the iPhone's screen just wasn't big enough for me to read. This required me to:
1) Break out the (much larger) laptop
2) Pay for wireless Internet at my hotel
3) Struggle with tech support for 30 minutes when their wireless would give me an IP address but not respond to any traffic I sent to it
4) Pay for Internet at the convention center, only to discover that, due to their firewall, my VPN wouldn't work
5) Go to a 3rd hotel and sit in the lobby while using their free wireless.
All of this just to read three damned emails!
/end rant/ All throughout this, I had near-perfect connectivity with my iPhone. All I needed was a physically bigger screen. Which the iPad (and competitors - I'm using iPad generically) offer. The iPad concept is a category-killer.
