(We now return you to your regularly-scheduled programming).
Here's some more pictures from my recent Western vacation. This was Tuesday at Crater Lake National Park. The main thing to do is drive around the lake and stop at various scenic overlooks. You can hike down to the water's edge, but that's a 1500 foot hike back up, so I skipped.

When I got there, the weather appeared less than promising. Fortunately, it was time for lunch, so I killed a bit of time eating.

Fortunately, the weather cleared, although it remained cold. This is Wizard Island, the larger of the two islands in the lake.

The wind was blowing in from the Pacific, and the mountain was forcing the moist air up, resulting in interesting weather patterns.

Phantom Ship Island. That main peak is 14 stories high. Despite that, the island is not visible from most of the lake.
