Link Salad, It's Not Just For Dinner
Nov. 3rd, 2011 11:56 amIt's cold, wet, dark and rainy in Chicago, and I've got a passel full of links (whatever a "passel" is) so here, have some:
1) Somebody has decided to buy a fleet of hybrid airships for operations in a much-less ice-choked Arctic.
2) Although titled "A Geography Lesson for the Tea Party," my real interest in this link is that it explains the huge cultural differences between Chicago and downstate Illinois.
3) The US military, tired of getting their fuel tankers shot at, is trying to go solar. Considering the Army on the move burns 30 gallons of diesel a day, they've got a ways to go.
4) How psychology solved a shipwreck mystery. Basically, scientists calculated how people's memories change over time to predict the location of a sunken ship from the accounts of the survivors.
