Breaking Radio Silence, Skin-care Edition
Jan. 13th, 2012 10:45 amSorry for not posting the past couple of days - Wednesday and Thursday were consumed by locusts, including surgery. (Relax, Mom - very minor).
One of the many, many, reasons I don't make my living as a male underwear model is that I have two skin conditions, keratosis pilaris and occasionally get seborrheic keratosis. The pilaris is splotches of red goosebumps that sometimes look like small pimples. Except for occasional mild itchiness (usually in dry, cold weather) it's not a problem nor is it a health risk. It just doesn't look sexy.
I also get sehorrheic keratosis-is (keratosi?). These are little scab-like raised bumps. They also aren't medically serious, but I got one on my shoulder, and it was getting caught in the seam of my shirts, so I had it whacked off. I spent more time waiting in the doctor's office than the surgery took, but that meant time away from the computer.
That plus a collection of minor server failures at work, a snafu with the bank's new website, traffic delays due to snow and a routine visit from the auditors meant no time for blogging. The good news is that I have Monday off.
