Fitness and Links
Jul. 20th, 2012 09:15 amSo, yesterday my personal trainer had me run a mile. We did that in spurts of 250 yards, with the interval between spurts filled with other exercises. I remember just a couple of months ago getting a bit winded just walking a mile on the same track, with no other exercise! I've found that, since I've started the program, I'm actually sleeping less, but better, and have generally more energy. Go me! (grin)
In other news, have some links before they go bad:
A) I don't like negative reviews, receiving or giving, but if you think the book's no good, that's what you have to say.
B) On the global warming front, I read via
jaylake that engineers are trying geoengineering to cool the Earth. Also, personal experience is a key factor in accepting environmental change. The tl;dr version is "sooner or later reality hits everybody with a clue-bat."
C) An interesting graphic: all known exoplanets to scale.
D) Some interesting genetic evidence that strongly suggests humanity very nearly went extinct some time in our pre-technological past.
Oh, and today is the 43rd anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon.
