Mister "I'm in China" finally got back to us. His "best and final" offer is the asking price of the same unit that already sold! No, thanks - the other unit was nicer than his. We're officially moving on - in fact we made an offer on a unit in Darien over the weekend. More information to follow.
Mid-day update:
Apparently somebody wants to sell a house - my offer on a townhouse in Darien was verbally accepted. It's a nice, newer 3-bedroom place, with a good layout. A couple of the rooms have color schemes I'm not fond of, but I can operate a paintbrush so that's no biggie. Right now, closing date is July 9th, so only a couple of weeks in temporary housing.
