Writing, Characters
Apr. 2nd, 2014 09:17 amI had my monthly writing workshop last night. Due to my Rotary and work commitments, I did not have anything for the group to read. I did mention that I needed to think up some characters for my Air Malaysia In Spaaaccce!! (tm) soon-to-be work in progress. Specifically point-of-view characters.
I have one. FBI agent Ray Volker, of the Kansas City FBI office. I've decided that the missing spaceship is nominally based out of Kansas City, and so the investigation is based there. Ray is a womanizer, who is assigned because he's on desk duty after shooting somebody. He doesn't know jack about space, which means when he gets explained something, so does the audience.
I have an idea for a second character, a high school exchange student on the way from Mars to Earth, but that character has no name or sex (yet). I suspect I'll need a third POV character among the hijackers, but right now I have enough to start writing.
