May. 15th, 2014 09:49 amA) From Simberg's Flying Circus, I see that a climate scientist named Lennart Bengtsson resigned a new position. The Usual Suspects call this "McCarthyism" and in comments compared Bengtsson's resignation with the Nazi murder of Edwin Rommel. My response:
Yes, of course, “colleagues are withdrawing their support, other colleagues are withdrawing from joint authorship etc.” (taken from Bengtsson’s resignation letter) is exactly the same as murdering your own general.
What Bengtsson seems to want is the ability to take a controversial position and not be criticized for it. Well, I want to date a supermodel. I suspect that both our desires are going to be thwarted.
