Election Aftermath
Nov. 5th, 2014 10:47 amRegarding the election that was, I'm generally in agreement with John Scalzi's thoughts. Here in Illinois, the Democratic defeat wasn't quite as disastrous as in Ohio, but it certainly looks like our accidental governor Pat Quinn is no more.
I will add that if the Democratic Party doesn't get youth, poor people and non-whites to the polls, they will continue to have problems winning elections. They (we) also need to build / rebuild a local party organization. Here in DuPage county (granted, a Republican stronghold) the Democrats did not have a complete slate of candidates.
Tomorrow, hopefully, my thoughts on Joanna Russ's We Who Are About To Die...
