I seem to be coming down with the same creeping crud sinus congestion that's been going around at work. Thus, I have less interest than usual in grand theoretical discussions; so, have some weekend culture.
Movie Seen
I saw the TV-version of Taken 2, the action sequel of Taken, Liam Neeson's mid-life career-reviving actioner. 2 was a competent sequel, in which many bad guys died badly and loudly. Good for what it was, and closed the story opened with the first movie.
Books Read
The first book read was Ascension (link to my review) a very nice SF novel. Highly recommended. The second book read was Proof of our Resolve (link to review) by Chris Hernandez. Chris is a combat veteran and police officer, and his novel is a fictionalized account of his service as "just a grunt" in Afghanistan. I found it interesting if brief.
