Sep. 6th, 2020 11:46 amI am watching a Russian disinformation campaign run in real time. My Facebook page had several posts about "62 girls rescued in Delaware." THIS IS A LIE. It did not happen.
Here's what's going on. The Russians, using the "Q" or "Qanon" persona, are trying to convince people that Trump is personally fighting against a global child sex slave operation. So, every large group of exploited children found generates a flurry of social media posts.
But finding large groups of children being exploited is rare. So the Russians are now just making stuff up. They are doing so in hopes that people will support Trump's re-election, as well as buy into the whole Qanon conspiracy. Please be warned.
