In my latest novel One of Our Spaceships is Missing, on sale everywhere, I have a female character named Henrietta Solis. Like many writers, I sometimes name my characters after real people. In this case, Henrietta Solis is named after my grandmother, Henrietta Gerrib.
Henrietta was born Henrietta Herzog in 1918. Her father, Henry, only had daughters and by the time she came around it was decided to give her the female version of her dad's name. Unlike the fictional Henrietta, who goes by "Hank," the real Henrietta did not use a nickname.
My fictional Henrietta is a retired Naval officer and one of the protagonists of the story. The real Henrietta didn't do much that would interest non-family members, and the one thing she did do of interest, elope to Eagle River, Wisconsin to marry my grandfather, was never much discussed.
The real Henrietta died in 1998. It was nice to bring a bit of her back to life.
