Sunday was cool and rainy, and today dawned cloudy and damp. The sky has turned blue outside my window, but it's still supposed to be a bit cool. So, on to the links:

A) If World War One was a bar fight - humorous and, considering the massive death and disruption we're still experiencing from that war, very sad to note that the war was really a mistake.

B) A short (7 minute) video that concisely explains why we pay vastly more for health care than anybody else with nothing to show for it.

C) As Inspector Harry Callahan said, "A man's got to know his limitations." William Rosecrans did not.

WWI was a mistake.

The mistake in starting the war was that of Germany, giving Austria-Hungary their backing, and Austria Hungaria in believing that German backing would be sufficient to cause France to back down.
It was also a German mistake to think that they could violate neutral Belgium without consequences, and could restart unlimited submarine warfare (in violation of Hague convention) to complete their victory before the US could get involved.
It was also a German mistake to think they could defeat France before Russia could mobilize.
