Jim MacDonald on Making Light has finished his debunk of the Betty and Barney Hill UFO abduction, demonstrating that the "UFO" was an aircraft warning light on a mountain. Massive amounts of fatigue on the part of the Hills helped with the confusion. Methinks another post or two lurks to disect the "recovered memories" phase of this hokum.

The CBS Morning show decided that it was Important To The Nation to discuss a video of a woman getting Tasered. Now, allow me to get cranky for a minute. First, this is simply not that important in the grand scheme of things. Second, the woman is clearly resisting arrest. If the cops say "stop," then stop! If not, be prepared to pay the price in pain.

I finished Kristine Smith's (kristine_smith) new book Endgame last night. It's a great read! My deal with her publisher is that they get the first review, which won't come out until after October 15. However, once they get it (and more importantly, once I write it) I will post it here.

When in UK, it amused us that the BBC had to explain what a taser was during a news article. (Yes, used as a complaince tool in that case as well). I believe I agree with you in this case, although I haven't really seen the video save when walking past TVs.

Well, I re-read the letter from Eos. It says that I have to have it to them by the 15th, but can post it wherever I want. So it will be up here tomorrow.
