I've been meme'd

I was going to write something cranky, but
knockout_mouse tagged me with a meme, to write 25 random things about myself. There was also an option at the end to tag 5 LJ friends, but I shall pass on that.
1. I'm single, never married.
2. I tried to write a play (a murder mystery) in 5th grade. It sucked.
3. I recently wore a coat that I hadn't worn for a couple of years, and my allergies flared up. After a week, my head finally cleared.
4. I've really only read five or six new SF novels this year, and I am moderating a panel on what to nominate for awards. (Much concern).
5. I'm not terribly fond of these meme things.
6. But I was going to write something very cranky about political types making shit up to win political arguments, which would have been a bit flame-bait-y for a Friday.
7. I'll post #6 Monday, when everybody's ready for flame-wars.
8. I am very much NOT a cat person, thank you very much.
9. My problem with cats is that they forget who's master and who's pet.
10. I haven't been able to motivate myself to write on either of the two projects I've got for several weeks.
11. Hard as it is to believe, there are still people who are computer illiterates. I talked to one recently - the individual had no idea what Google was.
12. I'm trying to sell my current, perfectly okay but basic townhouse, so I can buy a nicer place. Not having much luck with that.
13. The number 13 (in particular) and superstitions (in general) don't bother me.
14. I believe in God and consider myself a Catholic, but I'm not big on organized religion.
15. I still read dead-tree papers, notably the Chicago Tribune.
16. I like dead-tree papers. I like the idea of a snapshot "this is what it is at this point in time."
17. I think this meme should be more like "ten random things about you." Twenty-five is a bit much.
18. But it's a hell of a writing exercise.
19. You can actually live too close to the office. I do.
20. My neighbor has two small dogs, both of whom bark constantly.
21. I really couldn't care less about professional sports.
22. Despite #21, I am attending a Super Bowl party Sunday. Sports are one of the social lubricants of society.
23. I constantly confuse "then" and "than" in my writing.
24. But I have mastered the "its" vs. "it's" issue, and every time somebody gets it wrong, it jumps out at me.
25. I'm really happy to get to the end of this meme.
