Call me old-fashioned
Aug. 22nd, 2006 08:37 ambut in the morning, I watch the first few minutes of the TV morning news (CBS's Early Show, usually). Today, the first 10 minutes of ALL THREE NATIONAL shows was the "Jon Benet Ramsey Hour" including an interview with two lawyers who "will have some roll in the defense" in this case.
Excuse me!?!? We've got a war in Iraq, the cease-fire in Lebanon is looking more like a TV-timeout then a cessation of hostilities, and last I heard, the Palestinians in Gaza were getting the crap kicked out of them by Israeli tanks (anybody hear how that turned out?), and a ten-year-old murder case is the lead story?
Folks in the "main stream media" (and I hate that term) seem to be confused as to why nobody respects them. Well, if you waste my time putting on an Abbott and Costello routine instead of news, I may watch (Abbott's pretty funny) but I won't respect you.
