Odds and Ends
Aug. 26th, 2006 02:46 pmWell, I started a night class at College of DuPage, our local junior (sorry, "community") college. It's the second in a series to get Cisco CCNA certified. Thus, I haven't been posting - my apologies. A few thoughts:
Planets - The International Astronomical Union was trying to come up with the definition of a planet. A special committee came up with what I thought was a perfectly-reasonable one, which was basically, "if it's round and orbits a star, it's a planet." Apparently, the general membership didn't want to promote Ceres to planet status. So, they came up with a half-baked definition involving "clearing it's orbital plane" which required Neptune to get a footnote, and demoted Pluto. If you can't tell, I think it's a crock. So do these folks.
Writing - My first review with the online site TCM Reviews is up. They are supposed to be reviewing The Mars Run one of these days. Also, the Villa Park Argos, my local paper, sent a photographer out. They are planning to run an interview I did with them in one of the leisure sections. I'll link to it when I see it.
Well, that's all for now.
