On giving a bad review
Sep. 8th, 2006 11:14 amI recently volunteered to do reviews for a web-based site, TCM Reviews. The proprietor had a backlog of erotica / adult e-books, and I offered to review one and get it off of her plate. She sent me Vixen of the Night, a modern urban vampire fantasy. I didn't know it until I Googled the title but this is Book One of a series.
Let's just say I didn't like the book. Now, readers of this site know I've been disappointed at negative reviews, so it bothered me to turn in a negative review on this work. Unfortunately, I just couldn't, in any honesty, recommend it to others. (Your Mileage May Vary)
I do think having done this review helps put my own reviews in perspective. No matter good or bad, a review is only one person's opinion. And it is impossible to be liked by everybody.
