I was dinking around on the Internet a few months back, and stumbled upon an e-zine called Pandora's Gate. They seemed to do nice job, and accepted science fiction short stories. They don't pay anything, and only take works up to 2500 words, but I figured, what do I have to loose. So, I took my shortest trunk work, and shipped it off.

They published it today. You can visit their site at Paper Dragon Ink and click on the link (lower left) to download the latest issue. It's about a 1.5 MB PDF file, and a little graphics intensive but free.

I was at a Con a while back, and ran into an old fart at the back of the dealer's room. His name was Tyree Campbell, and he is chief cook and bottlewasher at Sam's Dot Publishing. His flagship publication is Aoife's Kiss, a quarterly spec-fic magazine, which I subscribe to. His latest number is a nice little gem. A couple of features:

- Golf Widow, by Sharon bell Buchbinder, a surprisingly light-hearted number about an engineered decease that only kills men. Don't take it ENTIRELY seriously.

- Larvae, a nice story by the proprietor, which highlights why you shouldn't touch those old frescos at archeological sites.

- Angel, a haunting ghost story from Matt Casey, of especial interest to Catholics.

- Delicacy, by Dale Dobson, is a story to put your own mother-in-law problems in perspective.

Like Tyree says, support small presses - buy this issue.

(By the way, "Aoife" is pronounced just like it looks - "EE-fah")
