Sales of Books
Nov. 3rd, 2006 03:02 pmMy apologies for not posting. I was studying for part 1 of my CCNA exam (I just took it today and passed, thanks). Thanks to Girl On Demand, the unofficial cheerleader of self-publishers everywhere, here's a little market tidbit.
According to these folks (relying on Nielson Bookscan data) 80% of books sell under 100 copies! According to the article, a lot of "bestsellers" don't sell over 25,000 units. Apparently they're making the list based on rate of sales, not absolute numbers.
At any rate, go read the whole thing.
Another good read is a series
jeff_duntemann is doing on "creating a novel." He's got three posts up so far, and all of them are well-written and informative as usual.
