A random collection of thoughts and observations:

I wore this shirt to work today. I've worn it at least half a dozen times before, but today, 3 people (two co-workers and the clerk at the drug store) all said "wow, bright shirt!" (or variations thereof). I don't know what changed, but something did.

While out to lunch today, I noticed a young guy driving a nondescript car. What caught my eye was his choice in decorating the interior. Dangling from the mirror was what appeared to be the top part of a ladies' bikini swimsuit (you could see the lining). Exactly what message was the man trying to send? "I can get women out of their tops?" More importantly, to whom (male or female) was he trying to communicate this to?

Jerry Pournelle, a SF writer with an interesting blog, is not at all convinced of global warming. So, he points (with some glee) to this article in Canada's National Post. It's the latest in a series of articles on "Global Warming Deniers," people who don't agree with the "consensus" theory of man-caused global warming. I'm not too hot on this global warming thing* myself, but I have no idea if the National Post is a reputable source or Canada's equivalent of Fox News. So I pass the link on without comment.

*Actually, I think the amount of damage caused by global warming for the rest of this century is, while noticeable, not too much to worry about. I just couldn't resist the pun.
