Batten Down the Hatches
Aug. 24th, 2007 06:28 amChicago got hit by a doozy of a storm system yesterday afternoon and last night. The afternoon storms, which hit Oak Brook at 3:00 PM, produced a pair of funnel clouds and much wind and rain. A later set of storms in the early evening added flooding and more wind. Per the radio this morning, 250,000 ComEd customers are in the dark.
The extent of damage at Casa Gerrib was about a bucket's full of water in my (unfinished) basement, not enough to cause a problem. All our bank locations have power, so things could definitely have been worse. We have another set of storms heading this way, then it's supposed to dry out.
