Snippet from the Work In Progress
Oct. 25th, 2007 03:34 pmToo busy with the day job for real blogging, so, here's the opening paragraph from my latest work-in-progress, Taken to Mars.
“Aren’t you going to turn?” Octavia said.
The red pickup truck, covered in a fine layer of Arizona dust, continued straight ahead.
“Why would I turn there?” Mr. Vutrick asked.
“Because that’s the way to the Tabernacle, sir,” Octavia replied. “I thought you were taking me to choir practice.”
“We’re not going to choir practice.”
“Where else would we go?” She asked.
“Mars,” Mr. Vutrick replied.
“The planet?”
“You know any other Mars?”
She did not.
