Getting a run on your Christmas shopping
Nov. 28th, 2007 02:35 pmI attended a charity auction for the Woodridge, IL Rotary club last night, and spent too much money as usual. It was a fun time, but the first year at a new site with a bigger goal, which led to a few minor growing pains.
I've mentioned that I'm a regular reader of Making Light, the group blog of the Nielsen Haydens. They recently posted a collection of humorous Christmas gifts, which is worth a look. My favorite, and one which I could actually see somebody buying (perhaps a fan of
jeff_duntemann's vampire creek) would be this one: Chicks and Coffins Calendar.
Apparently it's for real. There is an Italian company, Cofanifunebri, which makes really elaborate hand-carved coffins, and this is their marketing tool. I suspect that if you have to ask how much their coffins cost, you can't afford one. It just goes to show that there is a market for everything.
